Friday is market day in Bereba. People gather to shop and socialize around the towering baobab tree that stands at the heart of the village. Buyers and sellers arrive from the neighboring villages dressed up and looking their best. Vendors' stalls are draped with colorful fabrics and clothing from around the world. I photograph villagers against the vibrant backdrops found throughout the market. The Market Day portraits capture the complexity of style and chaos of colors that erupt one day a week in the center of Bereba.
